Woodbury, Bellmawr Men Plead Guilty to Robberies

Albert Anderson, of Woodbury, and Joshua Gibson, of Bellmawr entered guilty pleas for their involvement in a series of robberies that occurred in 2012.

Two area men, Albert Anderson, 49, of Woodbury, and Joshua Gibson, 22, of Bellmawr, both entered guilty pleas for their involvement in a series of robberies that occurred in 2012, according to a recent statement released by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s office.

On May 19, 2017, Anderson was sentenced to seven years in New Jersey state prison after pleading guilty to one count of second-degree robbery for his role in five gas station and convenience store holdups that had taken place in Gloucester and Camden counties in 2012. His plea involved a November 21, 2012 robbery of a Deptford service station.

Anderson was the accused getaway driver and was also described by Gloucester County Superior Court Judge Kevin T. Smith as “the mastermind in the robberies, scouting targets” while employing a juvenile co-defendant to enter the businesses with what the co-defendant said was a toy gun.

Under the state No Early Release Act, Anderson must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.

Upon release, he is subject to three years of mandatory parole supervision.

On July 7, 2016, Anderson’s co-defendant Joshua Gibson, 22, of Bellmawr, pleaded guilty as an adult to one count of first-degree armed robbery and his sentencing is scheduled for June 30, 2017.
