19-Year Old Westville Man Faces Multiple Charges in Deptford Crash That Killed One, Injured Another

Miguel Pichardo, 19, of Westville, has been charged with DWI, Vehicular Homicide, Assault by Auto in connection with an August 22, 2020 crash.

On Saturday, August 22, 2020, at 10:08 pm, Deptford Township Police were dispatched to Tanyard Road, between Cattell Road and Brenner Avenue, for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, they discovered a two-vehicle crash involving a 2007 BMW 325i and a 1989 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Investigation revealed the motorcycle was traveling north on Tanyard Road and was being operated by William Stotsenburg, 67, of Deptford. His wife, Ann Richards Stotsenburg, 52, also of Deptford was a passenger on the motorcycle. .

While slowing to make a turn, the motorcycle was rear-ended by the BMW, operated by Miguel Pichardo, 19, of Westville. Both occupants of the motorcycle were ejected and sustained serious injury. Mrs. Stotsenburg later succumbed to her injuries sustained during the crash.

Pichardo was not injured as a result of the crash. He was arrested at the scene by Deptford Township Police for Driving While Intoxicated.

Pichardo was charged with DWI, Vehicular Homicide, Assault by Auto, and was lodged in the Salem County Jail on a warrant, pending a detention hearing.

The investigation is being conducted by the Deptford Township Police Department and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Investigation Unit and Crime Scene Unit. Assistance at the scene was also provided by the Deptford Township Fire Department.
  
Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of their rights as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and
State Law.

The dirtbag was released by a retarded judge who said he wasn’t a threat to society. He’s a murderer who willingly drove drunk and murdered my cousin! He should be in jail so he don’t murder someone else. This is why there’s a fatality every 50 minutes according to Highway Safety statistics. The law isn’t tough enough on these willing killers!
