53-Year-Old Carlos Acevedo Arrested & Charged With Murder Of Haddon Twp. Woman

Carlos Acevedo has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Cathleen McGrath, 26, of Haddon Township.

A Camden City man has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of a Haddon Township woman, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

On November 28, 2023, Carlos Acevedo, 53, of Camden City, was arrested by Camden County Prosecutor’s Office detectives and Camden County Police, and he was charged with second-degree Disturbing Human Remains.

Acevedo was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility. Further investigation resulted in Acevedo being charged on December 5, 2023, with first-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Cathleen McGrath of Haddon Township.

On November 15, 2023, at approximately 1:58 p.m., members of the Camden County Police Department received a 911 call for the report of a body found in the area of 8th Street and Atlantic Avenue in Camden City.

Upon arrival, officers were met by witnesses who had located the woman’s body. After further investigation, the woman was later identified as Cathleen McGrath.

All individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
