Abdur Catoe, of Camden, Arrested & Charged With Murder & Weapons Offenses

On Monday, November 7, 2022, at approximately 7:46 a.m., officers of the Camden County Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Jackson Street, Camden, New Jersey, after receiving a 9-1-1 call, reporting that a man had been shot.

A Camden City man has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a man on Monday, November 7, 2022, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay.

On November 29, 2022, Abdur Catoe, 36, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force and charged with the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Ryan Hodge.


On Monday, November 7, 2022, at approximately 7:46 a.m., officers of the Camden County Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Jackson Street, Camden, New Jersey, after receiving a 9-1-1 call, reporting that a man had been shot.

Once on location, officers and EMS personnel located the victim, identified as Ryan Hodge, 30, of Camden City. Hodge was transported to Cooper University Hospital and died on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.

Catoe is charged with the following offenses: First Degree Murder, Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, two counts of Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and two counts of Second Degree Certain Persons not to Possess a Weapon.

Catoe is currently lodged in the Camden County Correctional Facility.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
