On January 29, 2024, the Borough of Bellmawr issued the following Notice to Bellmawr Water Customers:
Due to a mechanical malfunction, the Bellmawr Water Department has temporarily shut down the Warren Avenue Treatment Plant.

While the system is being repaired our customers will be serviced through the Leaf Avenue and Bell Road Treatment Plant.
As a result, you may experience lower water pressure than you are accustomed to.
We appreciate your patience while we correct the issue.

Out of an abundance of caution upon discovering the malfunction our water was immediately tested.
The results found the water to be safe and in compliance with all NJDEP drinking water standards.

The water in Bellmawr is a disgrace. It is slimy smells like chlorine. And it stains.
