On April 25, 2019, Campbell Soup Company (NYSE: CPB) hosted its 20th annual “Take Our Children to Work Day,” giving more than 200 children the opportunity to participate in activities designed to spark learning, growth, and creativity while giving them a behind-the-scenes look at the food company.

“Campbell strives to give employees, many of whom are working parents, a supportive workplace environment,” Kristin Ennis, Senior Manager, Employee Communications. “For 20 years, we have hosted Take Our Children to Work Day for Campbell employees’ children. Children participate in educational and fun workshops while learning about their parent’s job and place of work. Each year, both children and Campbell parents come away with a new sense of pride in our food and our company.”

Campbell President and CEO Mark Clouse welcomed employees and their children before activities began and spoke about one of the key ingredients that makes Campbell a special place — employees who spend every day working to bring families together over meals.

The day had more than a dozen activities including kid-friendly workshops in marketing, sales and sustainability, as well as product development, nutrition and cooking.

Sessions included:

  • Be a SOUPer Marketer: Work with the Soup and SpaghettiOs marketing team to design a logo and compete in an Imagination Showdown
  • Logo Mania!: Learn about trademarks and create a personal logo
  • Pricing, Planning & Putting It Right on the Shelf: Learn from the Sales team how Campbell plans for its products to hit store shelves
  • Foodie Fun: Create food from scratch and learn about healthy food options with Campbell chefs and nutritionists
  • Plant Your Roots: Learn about upcycling through creating terrariums and planting seeds with the Sustainability team

In addition to celebrating this annual day, Campbell supports its employees and their families through several ongoing initiatives.

Campbell’s Family Center, which opened last year as a state-of-the-art facility that offers high-quality child care for Campbell families, complements existing employee benefits, including a 10-week parental leave policy, two-week non-primary caregiver policy and adoption assistance.
