Clementon & Lindenwold Men Charged With Murder & Weapons Offenses

On October 17, 2022, at approximately 3:32 a.m., officers of the Camden County Metro Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Davis Street in Camden City for a report of a male shot.

Two men have been charged with murder and weapons offenses for the fatal shooting of a man on Monday, October 17, 2022, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

On Monday, October 17, 2022, at approximately 3:32 a.m., officers of the Camden County Metro Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Davis Street in Camden City for a report of a male shot.


Officers arrived on scene and observed an unidentified male lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers transported the victim to Cooper University Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 10:24 a.m.

The victim was later identified as Darrell Whichard, 31, of Philadelphia, PA.

Following an investigation by detectives of the CCPO Homicide Unit and the Camden County Police Homicide Unit, Dominique Bowman, 38, of Lindenwold, NJ, and Jamel Granger, 18, of Clementon, NJ, were charged with first-degree Murder, second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose in connection to the fatal shooting of Whichard.

Bowman was arrested in Lindenwold on October 18, 2022, by CCPO detectives. Granger was arrested in Lindenwold on October 19, 2022, by the U.S. Marshals Regional Task Force.

Bowman and Granger are currently lodged in the Camden County Correctional Facility.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
