Detectives Investigating Fatal Shooting Of 48-Year-Old Man In Camden City

Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man on Saturday night in Camden City, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

On November 4, 2023, at approximately 9:09 p.m., Camden County Police responded to 10th Street and Mechanic Street for several 911 calls for reports of a person shot.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, and he was pronounced deceased at approximately 9:20 p.m. The victim was identified as Jamal Scott, 48, of Camden City.

This investigation is active and ongoing at this time.
