The Borough of Mt. Ephraim was recently awarded two grants totalling $50,000 to make improvements to Norcross Park ($25,000) and the Little League complex ($25,000).

Due to space constraints, there is no more room for additional large exercise equipment.
However, the Borough is looking to install other types of unique and creative playground pieces that would fit in other areas of the park.
Open space in the corners would accommodate a picnic table with attached benches, if funding permits.
Little League Complex
Integrated Video Security System
An integrated video security system will be installed at the complex, which will allow the Mt. Ephraim Police Department to have ready access for monitoring purposes and will aid in preventing vandalism and theft.
The system is estimated to cost approximately $1,500 and will also provide an additional level of security to the parking lot and areas of Haddon Lake Park that are attached to the complex.
Lighting Improvements
Motion sensor LED security lighting will be also be installed to assist visitors to the park area and the field complex while assisting law enforcement. The estimated cost for this work is approximately $1,500.
All field perimeter lighting will be repaired and upgraded with LED conversion kits to conserve energy while being more environmentally friendly. This initiative will reduce costs and consumption of electricity at the complex. The current lighting includes high energy consumption metal halide lighting. This project cost is estimated to be approximately $13,000.
Underground Drainage
Underground drainage at the T-ball field will also be addressed. Currently, there is a flooding situation that has caused the playing field to sink and become unsafe. The estimated cost for the drainage project is $1,000 and will create a safer playing area. Further erosion of the playing surface will be prevented.
Fencing
All field and complex perimeter fencing that has been identified as deficient and unsafe will be repaired and replaced. This includes replacing gates, fence posts, top-rail, and chain link fencing.
The fencing around the field dugouts will be replaced and modified to meet current safety needs. This includes extending the height, providing roof type fencing covers, and replacing deficient gates and fence posts supporting the existing dugouts. The posts and fencing for the field backstops will also be repaired and replaced.
The fencing project is estimated to cost approximately $8,000.
