Pennsauken Resident Fatally Shot in Camden; Investigation is Active & Ongoing

On August 1, 2023, at approximately 12:34 a.m., Camden County Police Department Officers responded to the 1600 block of Pulaski Street in Camden for a ShotSpotter activation.

Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man on Tuesday in Camden City, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

On August 1, 2023, at approximately 12:34 a.m., Camden County Police Department Officers responded to the 1600 block of Pulaski Street in Camden for a ShotSpotter activation. Officers arrived at the scene and located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was identified as Freddy Alfonso, 33, of Pennsauken, and he was transported to Cooper University Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 3:36 a.m.

The investigation is active and ongoing at this time.
