Philadelphia Man Arrested & Charged In Connection With Fatal Shooting of Camden Man

Michael Field, 44, of Philadelphia, was charged with first-degree Murder in the death of a Camden man.

A Philadelphia man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Camden on October 6, 2023, announced Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

Michael Field, 44, of Philadelphia, was charged with first-degree Murder in the death of Jody Spence, 31, of Camden.


An investigation determined that Spence was fatally shot on October 6, 2023, at approximately 10:24 p.m., outside of the Wheels of Soul Motorcycle Club at the 800 block of Princess Avenue in Camden.

On October 11, 2023, detectives of the CCPO Homicide Unit were contacted by the Philadelphia Police Department 6th District with information that Spence’s body had been located at the 400 block of North 5th Street in Philadelphia. Spence was pronounced deceased at 3:36 p.m.

Following an investigation, on October 19, 2023, Field was arrested in Trenton, N.J., by the US Marshals Service New York / New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, Camden Division.
