“We are pleased to partner with the Pine Hill Fire Department and recognize their work to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all they serve,” said Dave Robbins, president of South Jersey Gas. “South Jersey Gas is proud to support first responders in our local communities through our First Responders Grant Program. These grants will help provide lifesaving equipment, technology and training to each department, making sure their personnel have the tools they need to serve.”

In emergency situations requiring foam operations, pressure reduction devices reduce incoming water pressure from fire hydrants, allowing foam to properly blend before deploying from the fire hose. The newer device is much more portable and can be moved easily by personnel to each fire apparatus as needed.

“This grant allows our department to upgrade our foam operating systems, which is crucial for safe, effective firefighting,” explains Pine Hill Fire Department Chief William Dukes. “On behalf of our entire department, we thank South Jersey Gas for awarding us this grant – we greatly appreciate their continued support in helping to make the community a safe place for our residents.”

The First Responders Grant Program will be offered again in Fall 2018. All First Responders Grant Program recipients represent local police, fire or emergency medical services departments that are comprised of paid or volunteer staff members serving residents in municipalities located within the utility’s service area.
