Update: 18-Year-Old Arrested & Charged in Connection With Carjacking in Gloucester City

Tre’saan C. Braxton, 18, of Gloucester City, has been arrested and charged with robbery, receiving stolen property, possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, and hindering his own apprehension.

On April 24, 2023, the Gloucester City Police Department announced that Tre’saan C. Braxton, 18, of Gloucester City, has been arrested and charged with various offenses in connection with a carjacking that took place last week.

On April 16, 2023 at 7:49 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Division Street for a robbery. Upon arrival, officers determined the food delivery driver was carjacked at knifepoint.


A food delivery order was placed in an out-of-town restaurant. When the victim arrived to deliver the food, a male produced a knife and demanded money from the driver.

The driver told the male that he had no money. The male with the knife stole the victim’s vehicle and fled the area.

On April 17, 2023, officers located the stolen vehicle from the carjacking that took place the day before on Division Street. As a result of an extensive investigation by patrol officers and detectives, an arrest was made for the incident.

Tre’saan C. Braxton, 18, of Gloucester City, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • Robbery—1st Degree
  • Receiving Stolen Property-3rd Degree
  • Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose- 3rd-Degree
  • Unlawful Possession of a Weapon- 3rd Degree
  • Hindering his own Apprehension- 3rd Degree

Braxton was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
