Officer Cauthron tragically lost her stepson in July to an accidental, self-inflicted gunshot wound, and also cares for her disabled brother.
The South Jersey-based nonprofit provides comfort and community to first responders, active duty military, and veterans dealing with isolation or PTSD.
Their unofficial motto is “We Show Up!”

This year’s Halo Ball, Sept. 18 at The Westin Hotel in Mount Laurel, will raise funds so Project Refit can build its first “mobile base” for heroes to gather with their peers.
