River Drive is scheduled to be closed between the Railhouse Grill and the Route 130 Interchange beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, until 5 p.m. Friday, March 24, for railroad crossing repairs in Westville.
Access to local businesses will be maintained during construction. The following detours will be in place:
River Drive to Route 130 Detour:
- Motorists on Broadway/Route 47 wishing to take River Driver to Route 130/Gateway Boulevard southbound will be directed to turn onto Crown Point Road
- Turn right onto Pine Street
- Turn right onto Route 130/Station Avenue northbound;

- Stay left to take the U-turn ramp to Route 130/Gateway Boulevard southbound
Route 130/Station Avenue northbound to River Drive Detour:

- Motorists on Route 130/Station Avenue northbound wishing to take the ramp to River Drive will be directed to turn right onto Pine Street
- Turn left onto Crown Point Road
- Turn left onto Broadway/Route 47 northbound
- Turn left onto River Drive
In order to provide a safer and smoother railroad crossing, the existing crossing will be replaced with new concrete crossings and asphalt approaches.
This federally-funded project is included within NJDOT’s railroad grade-crossing safety program which repairs, upgrades, or removes approximately 50 crossings each year, statewide.
