8-Year State Prison Term in 2016 Westville Robbery

On February 23, 2018, James Q. Harris, 28, of Cherry Hill was sentenced to eight years in New Jersey state prison after pleading guilty to the November 11, 2016 robbery of two employees of a Westville deli, according to a media release issued by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s office

Harris pleaded guilty to the robbery charge on November 30, 2017 and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge M. Christine Allen-Jackson.

Under the New Jersey No Early Release Act, Harris must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.

In the incident, the two victims reported being approached by three males, two of them brandishing handguns. One went through the pockets of one of the victims, but obtained nothing before the three fled.

Harris was identified as a suspect and arrested on February 17, 2017.

Co-defendant, Steven Cooley, 28, of Woodlynne was also apprehended in the incident and charged with robbery, but is presently a fugitive.
