Local Atlantic County Girl Scouts from the Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ (GSCSNJ) were in for a sweet treat at a pastry class curated by Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City’s Executive Pastry Chef, Thaddeus Dubois.

The event was part of a broader partnership between GSCSNJ and Hard Rock Atlantic City.

The resort destination announced their support of GSCSNJ as a 2021 Cookie Angel.

New for 2021, the Cookie Angel Program provides an opportunity for businesses and donors to connect with local troops and support their cookie business during this challenging season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Girl Scouts have had to get creative and shift to virtual sales this year because of restrictions that have prevented some of their traditional cookie sale methods.

Through the Cookie Angel Program, businesses are invited to purchase cookies virtually at different sponsorship levels and gift the cookies to their customers, employees, or a local organization.

“We are excited to partner with the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City to offer girls an enriching program to discover new interests, have fun, and try new hands-on experiences,” said Ginny Hill, GSCSNJ CEO. “The wonderful event for our girls was made possible through Hard Rock’s generous support to our Cookie Angel Program which helps girls across central and southern NJ achieve their cookie goals.”

“We are proud to support the Girl Scouts of Central & Southern New Jersey, especially during this unprecedented time where fundraising has been challenging, yet more important than ever,” said Grace Chow, Vice President of Food and Beverage at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City. “We wanted to do something outside of the box and thought it would be a sweet treat to purchase 200 boxes of cookies and do a socially distant demonstration with a handful of Atlantic County Girl Scouts and our talented Executive Pastry Chef, but also donate several boxes to a local women’s charity.”

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest female-led entrepreneurship and financial literacy program in the country.

The 2021 Cookie Program has been extended for direct cookie sales to run until April 18th.
