Bellmawr’s Buddy Robinson Traded to San Jose

Bellmawr’s Buddy Robinson has been traded to the San Jose Sharks and will be assigned to their AHL affiliate, the Barracuda, according to a Sharks’ news release issued yesterday. The trade was also announced on Twitter.

In the trade, the club acquired right wingers Buddy Robinson, Zack Stortini, and a 2017 seventh-round draft selection from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Tommy Wingels.


Size & Depth

The Sharks’ General Manager, Doug Wilson, stated: “We also want to welcome Buddy and Zach to our organization. They add size and depth to our reserve list and we look forward to having them in San Jose.”

Robinson, 25, currently ranks fifth on Binghamton in goals (7) and T-9th in points (12) in 33 American Hockey League games. His plus-4 rating ranks T-4th while his 70 shots on goal rank sixth. In 245 career AHL games with Binghamton, Robinson has recorded 104 points (49 goals, 55 assists), 210 penalty minutes* and a plus-39 rating. He has appeared in six Calder Cup Playoff games with Binghamton.

Robinson made his NHL debut with Ottawa on April 6, 2016 and has posted one goal, one assist and six penalty minutes in seven career NHL games with Ottawa.

The six-foot-six, 230-pound native of Bellmawr, NJ, was originally signed by Ottawa as an undrafted free agent on March 25, 2013.

Robinson’s new number will be 26.
