Brooklawn Planning Board to Consider Application for 3-Story Self-Storage Facility; Hearing is Aug. 28

The Brooklawn Planning and Zoning Board will consider an application for a three-story self-storage facility in the vacant lot in between the Pennant and the Red Carpet Inn.

The Brooklawn Planning and Zoning Board will hear the application of PV Asset Management, LLC “for action so as to permit redevelopment of the premises located at Block 126, Lots 7 and 10, 141 Kings Highway, Borough of Brooklawn with a three-story self-storage facility, together with associated driveways, parking spaces, and signage,” according to a recently published Legal Notice.

This application is for the two Brooklawn lots, which are designated as #2 in the photo below. This area is in between the Pennant building (which is designated as #1 in the photo below and in Bellmawr) and the Red Carpet Inn (not shown), which is Brooklawn.

The property is located in the C-Light Industrial Zone; however relief is required to permit the proposed facility in the Redevelopment Overlay, the Legal Notice reads. Variance relief is required related to certain bulk, parking, loading, and signage requirements. A landscaping waiver is also requested.

A public hearing of this appeal has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 301 Christiana Street.

The Pennant

Last fall, we reported that the property was for sale, but since that time, the listing is no longer advertised on Loop.net.

According to property records, the property sold for $290,000 on June 27, 2018.

On August 27, 2019, SJO learned that the Bellmawr Zoning Board will hear an application on September 17, 2019 as it relates to the property for the proposes of developing the property as a self-storage facility.
