Stage Two will include outdoor dining for restaurants and indoor, non-essential retail as of June 15.
At their June 5, 2020 meeting, Brooklawn Council introduced and approved on first reading Ordinance # 4-2020, which allows for the issuance of zoning permits effective for 120 days to permit temporary outdoor restaurant seating and retail outdoor sales display areas at existing businesses, subject to zoning and construction code requirements, and other outside agency approvals
The Ordinance will be considered for final passage and adoption after a public hearing on June 15, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.
The Brooklawn Planning and Zoning Board will hear the application of PV Asset Management, LLC “for action so as to permit redevelopment of the premises located at Block 126, Lots 7 and 10, 141 Kings Highway, Borough of Brooklawn with a three-story self-storage facility, together with associated driveways, parking spaces, and signage,” according to a recently published Legal Notice.
This application is for the two Brooklawn lots, which are designated as #2 in the photo below. This area is in between the Pennant building (which is designated as #1 in the photo below and in Bellmawr) and the Red Carpet Inn (not shown), which is Brooklawn.
The property is located in the C-Light Industrial Zone; however relief is required to permit the proposed facility in the Redevelopment Overlay, the Legal Notice reads. Variance relief is required related to certain bulk, parking, loading, and signage requirements. A landscaping waiver is also requested.
A public hearing of this appeal has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 301 Christiana Street.

Article has been updated to note that the Borough of Brooklawn made an announcement on Facebook on October 24, stating: “Due to the impending nor’easter and the many calls of concern and cancellations from our vendors, it is with deep regret that we must cancel this year’s Brooklawn Fall Festival.”
The event will not be rescheduled.
