Camden Shooting Leaves One Injured & Another Fatally Wounded, Investigation Underway

On October 27, 2023, at approximately 7:58 p.m., Camden County Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Hull Road, in Camden for a report of a person shot.

Detectives are investigating a shooting that killed one man and injured a woman on Friday night in Camden City, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

On October 27, 2023, at approximately 7:58 p.m., Camden County Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Hull Road, in Camden for a report of a person shot.


Upon arrival, officers located two victims, 33- 33-year-old Akeem Jenkins of Camden and a 32-year-old female from Camden, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to Cooper University Hospital, where Jenkins succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 8:41 p.m.

The female victim has been released from the hospital.
