Former Gloucester City Assistant Public Works, Supervisor, John Zuccarelli, Pleads Guilty To Theft, Sentenced to Probation Order to Pay Restitution

The Gloucester City Police Department received an anonymous tip about a city employee committing acts of theft at the Gloucester City Public Works Department.

John Zuccarelli, a former Assistant Public Works supervisor for Gloucester City, pleaded guilty to theft and has been sentenced to probation and ordered to pay restitution, in addition to forfeiting public office.

On March 1, 2022, the Gloucester City Police Department received an anonymous tip about a city employee who was committing acts of theft at the Gloucester City Public Works Department.


A thorough investigation was conducted, and the results of that investigation were turned over to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office on April 1, 2022.

As a result, Zuccarelli (former Assistant Public Works Supervisor) was charged with theft.

On June 28, 2023, Zuccarelli pled guilty to theft in Camden County Superior Court. He was sentenced to probation, forfeiture of public office, and ordered to pay restitution to Gloucester City of approximately $1,400 and to Auto Part Plus in Runnemede of approximately $2,000.
