Jefferson Health Partners With Washington Township to Launch Bike Share Program

A ribbon-cutting celebration was held on Monday, June 17, marking the launch of Washington Township’s new Bike Share program at Washington Lake Park (626 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road, Sewell).

The program supports Washington Township Mayor Joann Gattinelli’s overall Wellness Campaign, was made possible in part through a $20,000 donation from Jefferson Health. 

Through the program, community members can reserve a free bike to enjoy by using a smartphone application, Movatic.

“You just download the app, come out to the park, scan the bike and take it for a ride,” Mayor Gattinelli said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “We encourage everyone to enjoy the park with friends and family.”

Ten bikes are available for riders 18 and older to rent — daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. — at a kiosk near the ranger’s station and concession stand.

 “This is a great fitness and wellness initiative, and it’s easy to use,” said Jefferson Health New Jersey President Joe Devine, adding that Jefferson – which has an acute care hospital in Washington Township – is proud to have partnered with the Mayor and Council on this health-focused community project.
