Westville Announces Plans to Compile Environmental Resource Inventory

The Westville Environmental Commission in collaboration with the Borough of Westville and Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) is officially announcing plans to compile an Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI) over the next year.

An ERI, also known as a Natural Resource Inventory, provides a comprehensive look at a municipality’s natural resources, environmental features, and unique characteristics.

ERI’s are used to increase public knowledge and understanding of the environment and are often used by land-use boards, environmental commissions, and other governmental bodies for municipal land use planning and site plan review.

Residents and those who may have knowledge of the town’s history, e.g. natural resources, wildlife, vegetation, historical structures and sites, contaminated sites, etc., are asked to please contact the Environmental Commission at 856-456-0030.

Historical maps, photos, and documents would certainly be appreciated.

A draft version of this report will be presented for public comment in the fall of 2022 and the final version will be presented to the Borough and adopted into the municipal master plan in January of 2023.
