Books & Cooks Event Highlights Importance of Fresh Food

 

The Camden County Library’s showcase event for its Books & Cooks project attracted over 70 people to the Riletta R. Cream Ferry Ave. Branch Library on November 5. At the event, food author and registered dietitian, Stacey Antine from FoodBarnUSA, discussed the importance of getting, preparing and eating fresh, whole vegetables, fruits, and other foods.

In addition to preparing an easy harvest wheat berry salad before the audience of all ages, Antine explained the importance of reading nutrition labels on packaged food and what ingredients consumers should avoid for a healthy diet.

The next Books & Cooks event in Camden is a Supermarket Tour of the Price Rite on Mt. Ephraim Ave. on November 12 at 10:00 a.m and Antine will conduct the tour.
