Stephanie Gregory, 58, of Galloway, Pleads Guilty To Endangering Welfare of Children

The crimes were discovered due to an investigation by DCP&P and detectives in the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victim’s Unit.

On May 23, 2023, Stephanie Gregory, 58, from Galloway pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child before the Honorable Dorothy Garrabrant, J.S.C.

The plea calls for Gregory to serve five years concurrent in New Jersey State Prison.


Additionally, Gregory is to have no contact with the victims in this matter or their biological mother.

Gregory admitted in 2020 that she, having a legal duty for the nine-year-old child in her care, did cause her harm by willfully and knowingly failing to provide proper and sufficient food for the child, resulting in her several malnutrition and hospitalization.

Further, Gregory admitted to having a legal duty for another child in her care, age six. She admitted to having that six-year-old child witness her striking the first child, who she failed to properly feed.

These crimes were discovered due to an investigation by DCP&P and detectives in the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victim’s Unit. Chief Assistant Prosecutor Erika Halayko represents the State in this matter.

Sentencing Date

The sentencing is presently scheduled for August 21, 2023 before the Honorable Donna M. Taylor, J.S.C.
